A decolonized, nervous system informed singing community

Soft Power Choir is a virtual community for those who want to intentionally connect with their voice and the power of singing in community through somatic-spiritual rituals and co-regulation, while also redefining and expanding the definition of what we recognize as a “choir.”

Our choir is a hybrid (virtual and in-person) choir in the sky for all who desire to activate their inner star and amplify the Soft Power Frequency.

We have been called by our ancestors and guides to remember the power of collective singing as creative resistance to colonial powers that want to silence our voices.

Join us at Surrender

Our first Soft Power Choir
in-person, collaborative event

This first-of-its-kind event reimagines the traditional choir performance, inspiring transformation through voice & sound produced by n4than, John-Michah Braswell and Dr. Kiki Steiner in collaboration with Soft Power held at the historic First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles.

Surrender is a realization of our shared vision to shift how we experience and participate in choral music. This is not a religious event, but a space for all—regardless of belief—to deepen connection with the spirit of life that unites us all.

Surrender is not about knowing all of the answers, or needing to.  Surrender is about acknowledging one’s responsibility to themselves, one another, and the Earth while moving with integrity.

Join the community choir and sing with us! Donation-based tickets are now available by registering below, with 3 event experiences to choose from.

Our Foundation

Provide spaces and experiences that guide us back to “loving ourselves again” (Leny Strobel, 2015) through culturally-aligned and nervous system informed healing arts, somatic practices, communal dialogue, and play.

Our Approach

Every space and experience is informed by the guiding principles of “Soul-Sensitive Care.” This framework intends to create environments for us to reconnect with what our body knows and soul remembers.

Our Facilitators

We are here to contribute to an irresistible, magical, and expansive revolution. We honor and continue building the legacy of Ancestors and radical beings paving the way towards collective freedom and liberation.

Our Facilitators

Soft Power Choir is led and facilitated by a team of Queer artists and educators dedicated to reimagining the traditional choral and singing community experience.

  • Dr. Kiernan "Kiki" Steiner, founder of The Voice Doula, is a singer/songwriter, vocal liberation creativity coach, and choral conductor of Filipinx, Celtic, and Swiss ancestry. Her calling is to generate collective creative power for healing, imagining, and co-regulation through nervous system-informed vocal and creativity coaching, songwriting, performing, and conducting expansive community singing experiences.

By reclaiming her culture and ancestral practices, as well as healing wounds from adoption/family separation, she became an open channel for ancestral wisdom providing Dr. Kiki visions of activating another “Singing Revolution.” From her research and lived experiences, Dr. Kiki has developed a nervous system-informed, decolonized, and emergent singing practice that can support collective healing and world building for future generations.
